About WoundSight AI

WoundSight AI is a free, educational wound-assessment tool. Upload a photo of a wound and the AI (Anthropic Claude Haiku 5.5) returns a structured report: the likely wound type with a confidence level, severity, approximate size, wound-bed composition, exudate and infection indicators, two suitable primary dressings chosen from a verified formulary, self-care steps and a plain-language summary. Reports can be downloaded as a PDF, and the tool works in English, German, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese. It is built for patients, carers, students and clinicians who want a second view - it is not a diagnosis and never replaces a professional examination.

How it works

  1. Take or upload a clear, well-lit photo of the wound.
  2. Optionally add details such as how long the wound has been there, its cause, diabetes or the current dressing.
  3. Receive the structured report in about 30 seconds and download it as a PDF if you wish.

Frequently asked questions

Is WoundSight AI free?

Yes. There is no registration, no subscription and no cost.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. The report is educational and provisional. A photograph cannot show wound depth, blood supply, infection status or pain, so any decision about treatment must be made by a qualified clinician after examining the wound.

Which wounds can it assess?

Chronic and acute wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, abrasions and lacerations; it also gives educational guidance on skin lesions. Images that show no wound are refused.

How are the dressings chosen?

Two primary dressings are selected from a curated formulary of established products - gelling fibres, alginates, antimicrobial and bacteria-binding dressings, gels, films, and simple pharmacy plasters for minor wounds - matched to the exudate level, tissue type, infection risk and wound depth. Manufacturers are never invented.

What happens to my photo?

Uploaded photos, the generated report and the sender's IP address are stored to run, secure and improve the service. Please avoid including faces or identifying details. The tool is for educational use only.

Which languages are supported?

English, German, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese - both the interface and the report.

Which AI creates the report?

You choose: OpenAI GPT-6 (ChatGPT) or Anthropic Claude Haiku 5.5. Both receive exactly the same instructions and produce the same report layout, so you can compare them. Your photo and note are sent to the provider you choose to create the report.
